Kia ora,
I’m Anya.

I am a strategist and advisor from Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland. I love to work with leaders and teams to tackle complex tasks that others may shy away from. I like to turn issues into opportunities to test, iterate, and improve how things are done. My career demonstrates this! All of my previous roles have been expanded to take on more responsibility with more strategic thinking in order to better impact the specific needs of each organisation.

I have had a varied career, working across economic development, fashion and lifestyle brands, developing and providing innovation precincts, property, startups, and the education sector. In addition to on-the-job learning, I have been lucky to gain skills through private study (policy, Te Tiriti, data science), formal training (RARE by Google Leadership Cohort, Emotional Culture Deck Masterclass, Change Management training, Business Model and Lean Canvas training), and opportunities to learn from founders, including Alvy Ray Smith and Sam Altman, in round-table settings.

Once referred to as "the Swiss Army Knife of people", I draw upon a range of practical and strategic skills gained from challenging roles in both the public and private sectors and working within public-private partnerships. And, of course - my misspent youth working in family businesses, grappling with building commercial acumen (in between pitching my weird ideas and trying to convince my parents we needed a dog).

My broad experience includes contributing to developing and implementing target operating models to enhance organisational efficiencies, supporting founders during times of crisis, leading communications through acquisition, developing Te Tiriti response programming, and designing people-centric well-being policies and operations that drove retention during large-scale organisational change.

I get a buzz from working with leaders and teams who focus on positive impact, from B Corps and local and central government projects to organisations motivated to improve after change or challenge.

If you find comfort in finding elegant solutions, enjoy exploring how data can be used to make better decisions, keep your Strategyzer books within reach, or take pleasure in persuading others that communication and operations should work in harmony - please don't hesitate to contact me!

I bring strategic advice, and a solutions focus.

Let me help embed a clear strategic vision into efficient processes, tools and experience design for your project, team or organisation.
